An Emergency Vehicle Operator (EVO) is part of a two-member team with an EMT, and is responsible for safely driving an ambulance to emergency and scheduled pick-up locations, transporting patients and emergency personnel, assisting in moving patients via stretchers, and otherwise assisting emergency personnel as requested. EVOs go through an extensive in-house training program, which includes the following: EVOC driver course, CPR & first aid, incident command and national incident management systems, hazardous materials, and field & driver orientation.
FT EVO earns $16.61 per hour plus bonuses and benefits. PT EVO earns $16.08 per hour. We are hiring for Part-time and Full-time for the Emergency Vehicle Operator position.
EVOs work at each of our stations in Schenectady, Albany, Troy, and Glenville New York.
Room to Grow: EVOs in good standing are able to enroll into Mohawk Ambulance Service's EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) courses to promote into an EMT-Basic role with the company. Courses are free in exchange for 1 year of employment as an EMT with Mohawk.

- Valid NY State Driver's License
- Successful completion of free, in-house training (EVOC/emergency vehicle operator course and BLS/First Aid and CPR)
- Must be at least 18 years of age

- Driver/Fire/EMS experience
